Caring for others means caring for you
Our Family Learning Center can help you understand the multiple perspectives and challenges that go along with providing care - not just for your loved one, but for you too.
You’ll learn to manage and prevent challenging behaviors and identify signs of caregiver stress and burnout. Our Family Learning Center teaches you how to care for your loved one, as well as how to care for yourself.
Put your oxygen mask on first…
When you fly on an airplane, the airline attendant instructs you to put your oxygen mask on first, before helping others. This metaphor can be used for those providing care for their loved ones. If you do not take time out for yourself, to make sure your needs are met both physically and emotionally you can suffer from what is known as “caregiver burnout”
